What a wonderful evening the dad turned date had. ReplyDeleteThe young couple returned home later than expected. Joey's mother, Elaine, was up waiting and knew something was wrong. Her husband turned "niece", Bethany, was tipsy and her son could not meet her eyes. She decided to let it go for the evening and sent them both to bed. Her former husband had her own room since the FOSE.
ReplyDeleteThe next morning, Bethany admitted that the liquor had gone straight to her head and she had sex with their son. They had not used protection.
"Okay, we just wait and see what happens. Now, look at me,"
Elaine said.
The beautiful blonde girl looked into her former wife's eyes and saw compassion.
"Our first time together was at the prom. I never meant to have sex that night but I have never regretted it. I know you did not regret it either. I had lost interest in sex during menopause and that was part of the reason you wound up this way. I could kick you out and take the house and everything, no one would blink an eye. While we aren't husband and wife any longer, I still love you and will forever. Okay, it's laundry day, get started on that then you need to get to work at the restaurant. That hot body does bring in the tips. At least your old boss gave your pension fund when they fired you."
A few weeks later, it was confirmed that Bethany was pregnant. She was strangely calm about the whole thing. Her wife's acceptance of the new dynamic in their family made it much simpler.
Their son was shocked to find out he had knocked up his father, that's the way he expressed it.
"Joey, she's not your father any longer. She's a girl you took to prom.
You two made a poor decision and now we need to decide how to move forward."
"Mom, I'm going to college in a few months, I can't be someone's daddy." Joey said.
"I disagree," Bethany said. Your mother and I both went to college while we raised you. Son, we never told you this," Bethany paused and looked at her former wife who nodded her accent. "You were conceived on prom night. We got married just before classes began. It worked out, your mother gave birth to you during winter break. It wasn't easy but we did it. Having said that, I'm already a college graduate. You need to concentrate on classes. I'll be staying here and your mother and I will be the parents. When you come home for visits, you can be a daddy. When you find the woman you want to marry, you'll still be the baby's father."
Joey left for his summer job and the two women sat down to talk.
"You sound like you intend to have the baby?"
"I do, I have been thinking about what I might do if I was pregnant and I always felt that having the child was the right thing to do. We aren't related by blood, hell, he stopped calling me Dad months ago. Honey, I want this child. Maybe it'll be the daughter we both wished we could have."
"Bethany, I didn't kick you out like other wives have done when their husbands became their own mistresses' or porn stars or the hot MILF down the street. You ARE the daughter I wanted. I took you in, taught you to dress, to do your hair and makeup. I held your hand through your first period and taught you it was okay to cry when you're upset."
"It's our first grandchild." Bethany pointed out.
"So it is. It's your body, your choice. I'll be there for you, as always."
As Bethany's pregnancy progressed, Elaine found herself a boyfriend. She had not been looking but a co-worker asked her out to a working lunch one day and they discovered they enjoyed each other's company. They began dating and soon became intimate. Bethany could hear them in what used to be her marital bed but she was happy for Elaine.
Bethany and Joey began dating a few weeks after they found out she was pregnant. They tried to keep it hidden from Elaine but after a month she told them she knew and it was okay with her.
Bethany and Joey got married after the baby was born, it was a little girl.
Elaine married her lover a few months later.
